Personal Property Valuation

An appraisal document is an official document that determines the value of your personal property. It is prepared to comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, (USPAP).

Appraisal reports are required for uses such as estate planning, charitable contributions, estate or gift tax preparation liabilities, insurance or damage and loss claims, equitable distributions, and sales advisory. Appraisals conducted for fine and decorative art enable owners to obtain an independent opinion of value with descriptions of the appraised property included in the report. We provide values for paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, sculpture, and object d’art related archival materials. Clients who own or wish to own such objects, including individual collectors, advisors, institutions, galleries, insurance companies, lending institutions, and attorneys, should engage a professional personal property appraiser with expertise in fine or decorative art.

The Appraisal Foundation  was authorized by Congress as the source for determining the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. The IRS requires a qualified appraiser to verify documentation  on the value of property in cases of gifts, donations and estate taxes. Our reports comply with the IRS guidelines and insure proper documentation for tax purposes.
